Meet Outseta’s New Video Course Template (LMS) for Webflow
Build a better course with Outseta's video course template (LMS). Includes personalized dashboards, automatic course progress tracking, and a structured learning environment—with all the design flexibility of Webflow. Clone our template, make it your own.
Over the past few years we’ve seen some absolutely incredible course launches on Outseta. As we observed the growth we were seeing in the “Courses” use case amongst our customers, one thing became clear—the upper echelon of course creators is growing increasingly frustrated with the cookie-cutter, out-of-the-box learning management systems.
Creators like Rob Hope with his Show Them course and Tommy Geoco with his Making UX Decisions course are great examples. Rather than building "just another course" on a run-of-the-mill learnign management system, they wanted to offer something better that truly honored their brand.
The downloads for our original video course template told a similar story. If we could provide a structured but flexible learning management system that gives course creators the design flexibility of Webflow, then we’d be cooking.
That’s exactly what our new online video course template provides—it’s everything we’ve learned about courses, structured in a way where you can easily make your course your own.

Best of all we packed this new course template with premium features—but rather than selling it as a template in the Webflow marketplace, we've made it a free cloneable that anyone can use to build their course.
Automatic progress tracking
If you’ve seen courses built on Webflow before, you’re likely familiar with the “Mark as complete” button—a button that users can click to indicate that they’ve completed a particular lesson within the course. This has always made “tracking course progress” possible but setting up such flows has always been, well, clunky.
No more.

This template comes with the “Mark as complete” button too—there’s real value in allowing the student to indicate when they’re done, as well as the dopamine hit students get from marking off lessons as completed. But this template automatically tracks your course progress for you too.
Host your video content with YouTube, Vimeo, or HTML5 video and Outseta will automatically recognize when the user has watched the entire video (to within 10 seconds of the video's end) and mark the lesson as complete for them—no manual actions required.
Teaser content
Nothing helps sell courses better than giving students a taste of your course content, so they get a sense of what the learning experience will be like. Our new template has teaser content built in, so some lessons can be publicly available while others are locked and prompt the students to purchase the course for access.

Personalized dashboards
Each time students login to your course they’ll land on a personalized dashboard, which links them directly to the lesson that they should complete next.

Structured learning environment
Every lesson contains video content, a lesson summary, links to other relevant resources, as well as written notes specific to each lesson.

Want to add other sections to each lesson? Go ahead! The full design powers of Webflow are at your fingertips.
Light and dark mode
Light mode? Dark mode? It’s up to the student to use whatever they find easy on the eyes.

A full publishing platform
Your course site also comes with a built in publishing platform, built on Webflow’s CMS.

You’ll need to market your course... what better way to do so than by publishing topically relevant articles directly on the same domain as your course? This will help with SEO, AEO, and getting your course found by prospective buyers.
It works great for publishing content that you want to share with your students, too.
Fully customizable design
Premium courses demand premium prices—when your course looks like every other course that’s built on a cookie-cutter course platform, you’re missing out on an important opportunity to differentiate your brand.
CRM, email, and help desk tools
This template gives you full access to:
- A CRM to store all of your student’s data
- Email tools that you can use to send everything from course updates to onboarding sequences
- Help desk tools that you can use so student questions are all routed to the same place
All of these features have a common goal in mind—to move you from “just offering a course for sale” towards “giving you all the tools to build a thriving course business.”
Start with our cloneable template or integrate a course into your own site
We did something pretty unique with this launch too—we wrote documentation both on how to work with our cloneable template, but also how you can add similar course functionality to your own pre-existing site.

If you’re just getting started with selling a course, we definitely recommend that you start with our cloneable template then customize it to make it your own. But if you’ve got your own pre-existing site, toggle our setup guide to “Integrate on existing site” for step-by-step instructions on how to do so.
Premium course creators... hear-hear! Your opportunity to build a more premium course experience is here.
