Yes. Outseta is a business backend - it handles billing, CRM, email, auth, and help desk. Your frontend (website, app, landing pages) stays completely separate. Keep your existing site on Webflow, Framer, WordPress, or anything else. Or switch frontends later.
We import into your Outseta account - we're not touching your existing platform. Your current tool stays fully operational until you're ready to cut over. The pilot import lets you catch any issues before the full migration. And if something needs fixing after the full import, we're right there to resolve it.
Yes. You can start a free trial and explore the platform at any time.
For Stripe-based platforms (Memberstack, Memberful, MemberSpace, Kit, Stripe Billing direct): no. We import Stripe payment tokens directly, so billing continues without interruption. For platforms using proprietary payment processing (Kajabi Payments, Patreon), customers will need to re-enter payment info - but we provide email templates and a managed process to make this as painless as possible. We'll be upfront about exactly what applies to your situation during the migration consultation.
We import your subscriber and customer records, account data, subscription details, and - for Stripe-based platforms - your customers' payment tokens. That means their credit cards keep working without anyone re-entering payment info.
For Stripe-based platforms, we need two export files from your Stripe dashboard: a Customers export and a Subscriptions export. For non-Stripe platforms, we'll need a customer list (CSV or similar) with whatever data your current platform can export. We walk you through exactly what to pull during the migration consultation - you don't need to figure it out on your own. Our self-serve migration guide includes instructions for export.
No. We put your Outseta account in manual payment processing mode during the migration. In this mode, invoices are created when payments are due, but Outseta won't actively try to collect any payments. This lets you verify everything is set up correctly before you flip billing live. Once you're ready, we help you cancel the old subscriptions and activate billing in Outseta - no overlap, no double charges.
We can typically have your data prepared and imported within 48 hours of receiving your export files. We start with a pilot import so you can verify everything looks right before we do the full migration. Complex migrations with large subscriber bases or custom data may take a bit longer - we'll give you a clear timeline upfront.
Your customers receive a password-reset email inviting them to set a new password on your site. You can customize this message so they know nothing went wrong - it's just a routine update. Their existing subscription and billing continue as-is (for Stripe-based migrations). From their perspective, very little changes - they just log in with a new password.
